A Note to Prospective College Students and all my friends.

Today I’ve done a bit of thinking. College is very difficult. I’ve fallen behind quite a bit. Many assignments I need to complete. I’ve lost a lot of sleep. I’ll end up going to bed at 3 or 4. Therefore I’ve slept in late on accident and missed class. I feel terrible all the time. I’ve realized that even one moment of slacking off can result in weeks of catching up. I actually think there’s a chance that I may not pass this semester. If that happens I think I’ll continue working at KFC and become a manager. I’ll work for a while and get some cash saved. Then I’ll stop being a manager and go back to college. In between I’ll definately work with programs and skills that I’ve needed in college. When I get better and have the money, I’ll go back to college. I’m honestly not really worried about being a great graphic design as of now. I’m more worried about living well. Hopefully I’ll get better at Graphic Design and get a job that I enjoy.

I realize that I’ve been rambling a bit. I’m still wrapping my mind around a lot of things. There’s a lot I don’t understand.

This is an incompete blog. Don’t worry about any of it.

New Browsers & Work and School Updates

Hey all. Been a while! So. I’m on Flock. MOST AMAZING BROWSER EVER. It’s incredibly efficient for socializing and blogging so, no doubt, I’m gonna have more blogs than I usually do. Video blogs (VLOGS) are kinda out for me, since I don’t have a decent video camera and would otherwise be using a digital camera. I’m at home right now. It’s 4:32. And my room is a mess. I really need to clean it afterward this. School and work have me up a wall. Plus I’m broke as a joke. Been painting for color class… sorta… I’m kinda behind, but people have been starting over… So I don’t feel as bad. I tend to work on a color until I’m satisfied with it. As far as Ad Design… I don’t know If I’m cut out to be a Ad Designer… Layouts don’t seem to be my thing anyway. Working on a few ads… a full campagin. But they don’t look professional (or decent) at all. I’m also in Freshman English II, Intro to Philosophy, and Digital Illustration. English is easy enough, but Philosophy is kinda boring… Just not getting into something minutly interesting… I can stay awake anyway… Digital Illustration on the other hand… challenging!! Fun though.

So back on the topic of browsers; I’ve been exploring some aside from Firefox. It’s been crashing on me lately. (Probably because I often have over 10 tabs open at a time…) But I’ve discovered Opera and Flock. Opera is great. Easy surfing, great search capabilities, widgets, great aesthetic. It’s awesome.

Flock…I’ve had Flock before. But I did give it a chance. It looked like an application window and not a browser window. But… It is the best of both worlds. It’s specially designed for social networking and blogging. So it has awesome search capabilites, a People window (to easy watch Facebook, MySpace, and YouTube, as well as others.) and this fascinating blogging window.

Today was a good day.

So I decided to get something to eat. I went outside, hopped over the gate and started walking to the gas station and KFC. It was a beautiful day. Seriously. Everything looked like a digital picture looks after you’re used to seeing Polaroids. Even the sounds were amazing today. I kicked a nail and it made a beautiful clang everywhere. My hot wings were great. My coleslaw was great. This was all thanks to Russian Java Monster energy drinks. Be genetically different.

Something I wrote last night, and Fire Fox Add-On’s

Hey everyone. Kurtis here at my grandma’s house… Ugh. Of course she’s yelling at me for being a “deliquant” because I sit on the computer all day. She’s the reason I hate old people… among a few trivial things… She just doesn’t understand anything modern. But anyway… Thanksgiving…  Not so much. I had a girlfriend in Honduras. We just broke up. The distance wasn’t really good for the relationship and it’s better if we’re just friends for now… It’s getting cold… 51 degrees. I’ve been drawing portraits. Mostly people from a cam chat room. One was the lead actor from Girl, Interuppted. I’ve discovered that I like psychological movies.Movies such as Girl, Interuppted, 28 Days, May. Romance movies too. I just watched The Lake House. It was good. Trying to watch Twilight online, but there’s not really any reliable links. I’ll have to watch it in theatres when I can.
Anyone wanna suggest any movies to watch? I feel like drawing something a bit morbid. Wish I had charcoal. Anyway. Later all. Have a decent day.

I did end up drawing something cool. ^__^ With Ballpoint pen and Sunkist Strawberry Limeade.

Some musings on life. What is the goal of life? Things I’m sure of

The goal of life is NOT to graduate High School.

The goal of life is NOT to graduate College.

The goal of life is NOT to get a job.

The goal of life is NOT to be successful in a career.

The goal of life is NOT to get a great home.

The goal of life is NOT to get a great car.

The goal of life is NOT to find your soulmate.

The goal of life is NOT to have kids.

What I am sure of:

The goal of life IS to die.

We are born. We do things. We die. It is the ultimate outcome. Everything between is fluff.

But how amazing fluff can be. ^__^ The fluff of life is what makes life worth living. I want to fluff my life up doing things I enjoy. Drawing, listening to music, a video game or two, having friends. Eating good food. ^___^ (I can’t wait till I can settle down and have a regular meal plan…) The fact of the matter is, it doesn’t matter what we do during our life. I’d say, as long as what we do makes us happy, and we can look back and say we had a satisfactory life, then it is worth doing. Of course, we mostly have to worry about what comes after. Some say there is no afterlife. We die and nothing happens. Others believe there is much much more. What we do affects our home in the afterlife. It doesn’t matter who’s wrong or right. That’s the individuals problem. During life, I don’t see what everyone can’t help make life better for everyone around them. Wouldn’t we have a much better life if everyone helped others?

My aim is to always be a good person. Not a good student. Not a good christian. Not a good worker. Of course I’d like to be a good student, christian, and worker, but my overall aim is to be a good PERSON. To help others as much as I can. To do more for others, then for myself. I’m certain that I’ll be taken care of eventually. In the meantime, I’m going to fluff up my life.

Work harder and be nice. Oh it’s a rant!

People. You will always be serving someone else. There is not one single occupation that you get paid without doing something FOR someone else. Let’s start in the most obvious place. Fast food. Your job is to prepare and serve food for other people. Grocery stores. You ring up orders, stock product, clean aisle 4, all so the customer can select their stuff, buy it, and have it. Those are jobs that are probably temporary, and don’t require a college degree. Careers that require jobs have just has much demand as those that don’t. And you’re still going to be working for others.  Doctors, lawyers, artists, mechanics. All of these are doing something for someone else. No matter what you do, you will be doing something for someone else. Even jobs that are less… legal… you will be providing something for others. Prostitution, dealing drugs, selling stolen equipment, assassinating. All to serve the people who pay you. So suit up and realize that customers do not hinder you from doing your job. The customers ARE your job. Work harder, and be nice and you will get a LOT farther. ^_^ And by the way, when you do something for yourself, you’re losing money. The work system is a hint to everyone. Do for others. You’ll be done for. You are one person serving many. There are many serving you. Everyone should work together to make this world a positive and easy environment for everyone to live in. But do you wonder why people have so many arguments? It’s simple. Because there are so many people. It’s hard enough to live with 3 other people. We’re sharing a small planet with over 6,852,720,000 people. There are bound to be a few disagreements. That’s a good reason to do your best to keep everything going as smooth as possible. We don’t need gun power to solve stupid disputes. What we need is serious discussion over the most neccessary, safest resolution for everyone. With an election coming up, I feel it’s important to say that you should vote for, not the best speaker, not the most experienced, not the best looking, not the most republican, not the most democratic… but the most neccessary. We need someone who will work hard and be nice to serve America, so that America can serve the world, so that the world can serve us.
